The Courtyard House

The Accra Courtyard House reinterprets traditional spatial planning within a contemporary architectural language. Designed for a growing family, the home prioritizes openness while maintaining privacy. At its core, a generous courtyard brings in light and air, creating a dynamic relationship between interior and exterior spaces. Movement is guided around this central void, encouraging connection across different zones of the home. Material choices are simple yet expressive, allowing the architecture to age gracefully over time. The house becomes not just a shelter, but a living environment shaped by climate and daily life.
